That moment you realise your beloved pet is not around, you start calling them with no answer, they do not appear. Panic sets in, you start looking in their usual haunts, call family members to help but still no sign of your furry/feathered friend. After a while you post to social media, lost and found websites and start making posters. All good practice and not to be discouraged.
The first 24 hours are the most critical and we believe, along with the dog and cat wardens we have spoken with, the sooner you can notify local people, the better. So rather than searching on your own in those first few minutes, create a local search party with Pet Rescuar.
Pet Rescuar is designed to be a pro-active aid and is for owners and animal lovers in your neighbourhood. You can download it to register your pet or just assist others in finding their loved ones. Just one piece of advice - do it now BEFORE your pet goes missing.
Owners: Pet Rescuar allows you to register all your pets in one place with simplicity. Just register their name, state whether they are chipped or not and add your contact number. Choose/take a photo which will help anyone finding your pet to recognise them. You are now all ready for when they decide to go walkabout on their own.
As soon as you realise they are missing, long press their picture and this sends an alert to all app users within a 5 mile radius creating a bigger search team immediately and giving you a better chance to find them quickly and just as importantly, safe. App users receive a fullscreen photo of your pet, so try and capture any distinguishing features, when you send the alert. When someone finds your pet they can quickly tap your contact number to call you.
Non-Owners: Pet Rescuar aims to create a community of animal lovers wanting to help owners find their 'best friends' as soon as possible. By downloading the app now you wil be ready to receive notifications of pets lost in your local area and you can choose to 'join the search'. You receive a fullscreen photo of the animal with their name and owner's contact number. When you find the pet, simply tap the contact number and call the owner.
